RESERVATION RULES

No reservation can be considered secure before the guest has received an explicit confirmation from SunnysideUp, either in writing (Email) or by phone.

SA residents, booking 4 or more days prior to arrival need to prepay the full (100%) overall booking value into our bank account if the booking value is less than R141.00; 50% if the booking value is between R141.00 and R320.00; and 30% if the booking value is above R320.00 in order to secure their reservation. Foreign guests, short-term bookers (less than 4 days) and walk-in guests don't need to deposit any money prior to arrival.

REGISTRATION AND FINAL PAYMENT

Upon arrival the balance of the guest's accommodation bill (as booked) is due in CASH. The same goes for any guest that didn't deposit any money in advance. In case of insufficient cash available on arrival we will allow a one-night stay if the applicable rate for that first night is covered by the deposit or paid in CASH upfront.

CANCELLATION RULES

In case a reservation for which a deposit has been made in advance is cancelled by the guest, SunnysideUp will deduct from the deposit 20% of the overall booking value (indemnation fee) plus R30.00 to cover administrative costs. The remainder of the deposit will be transferred back to the guest's bank account.

SunnysideUp Backpackers' Affordable Accommodation

means comfortable and affordable lodging in one of our six houses: a dormitory which sleeps up to 8 persons, four chalets and our "family" cottage. In accordance with the comfort and exclusivity provided prices vary between R90.00 and R240.00 per person per night (pppn).

Eight bunk beds are available in our dormitory. Two of our four chalets are en-suite, the other two are not. En-suite chalets are suitable for up to 4 adult persons whilst the cottage (en suite) and our NON en-suite chalets sleep up to six persons very comfortably.

Sanitary facilities for guests in the dormitory and in the two chalets non en-suite is provided in the ablution block next door (4 showers, 4 toilets, 2 basins).

Bed linen is provided for free throughout the price range. Just bring your own towels along. In the communal kitchen you can prepare coffee or tea, prepare breakfast and/or cook your meals. Crockery and cutlery as well as pots and pans are available.

Camping is also possible, of course - at a rate of R60.00 per person/night.

PRICE STRUCTURE FOR ACCOMMODATION

Valid from 04 January 2010 to 28 February 2011.

Our rate structure is based on four different levels for singles according to the comfort and exclusivity provided. Bunk beds are rented out for R90.00/night. The same rate applies to any additional person sharing one of the chalets or the cottage. So NON en-suite chalets cost R140.00/night plus R90.00 for any person sharing, EN-SUITE chalets come at R190.00 plus R90.00 for any person sharing, and the cottage goes for R240.00 (single) plus R90.00 for any person sharing.

Small children up to 3 years of age go for free. For children older than 3 years that are NOT occupying a separate bed we charge only R30.00 per night.

Guests or groups who book for 8 or more nights within a period of 30 days will receive a discount of 10% on their accommodation bill.
